We're delighted to announce that our Young Explorer Programme has made a grant to Swanand Patil. This will help finance his study of small carnivores in the Western Ghats of Southern India.

Swanand is a talented and dedicated young conservationist. At the tender age of 24 he has already completed his Masters in Wildlife Conservation in Pune, India and is on the IUCN Species Survival Commission for otters. He has started a small NGO whose goal is to study and conserve lesser known species of small carnivores in India.

Its work like this that is vital to the future and health of ecosystems and biodiversity, in a world that often focuses on the larger, more picturesque species. Good luck Swanand, we look forward to your updates on your 6 month study and wish you well in your tent!
